Why learn to skate
Good for the body, good for balance
Better than running or cycling
A University of Wisconsin Medical School study found skating more beneficial than cycling or running for building hip and thigh muscles.
Safer than you'd think
Per the Consumer Product Safety Commission, roller skating is 2x safer than school playgrounds, 3x safer than football and baseball, 4x safer than basketball, and 5x safer than biking.
Easy on the joints
A University of Massachusetts study found roller skating causes 50% less joint impact than running, with up to 600 calories burned per hour of vigorous skating.
