A Miami institution
35+ years rolling with Miami, first as Hot Wheels, then Super Wheels, now Miami Roller Rink.
Our story
The last standing "OG" roller rink in Miami
For some it will always be Hot Wheels, for others Super Wheels. Either way, this rink has been rolling with Miami since 1987, through renovations, a hurricane, a pandemic, and a community-led rescue.
Stuart Cuaff and Wayne Lippman open the original Hot Wheels Skating Center in Southwest Miami, known for its lighting, sound, live DJ sessions, and performances.
Six-time national roller-skating champion James Ritter acquires the rink and leads a major renovation. Hurricane Irene damages the facility in 1999, and it closes.
Thomas Mitchell and Milad Wanna found Super Wheels, the next chapter of the venue, after local competitor Thunder Wheels closes after 11 months.
Super Wheels closes temporarily for the pandemic in March, then reopens that September with support from former employees and the community.
When the shopping center went up for sale and buyers wanted to convert the space, two parents from the Super Wheels Skating Team put their life savings into keeping the rink alive as Miami Roller Rink.

What we stand for
A community hub, not just a rink
While the name and ownership have changed over the years, our mission stays the same: build on this rink's legacy as a community hub, safe, clean, and fun for guests of all ages.
All ages welcome
From kids taking their first wobbly steps on skates, to teens looking for a welcoming hang out spot, to adults who have been skating since the 80s.
Community first
This rink was saved by two parents from the Super Wheels Skating Team who put their life savings on the line to keep it open for Miami.
35+ years of Miami skate culture
We hope to recruit the next generation of roller skaters and keep the sport alive in Miami, one session at a time.
